Myra Canyon: Hiking & Biking On Historic Railway

Today, the Myra Canyon invites site visitors year-round. With the initial railway ties and rails long gone, the section is an ideal place to marvel at dazzling design and impressive valley vistas.
Kettle Valley Railway History
The Industrial Revolution’s demand for train connections prompted the ambitious endeavor of the Pot Valley Railway (KVR). It called for the structure of 18 major wood trestles, 2 steel bridges, and two passages throughout unpredictable premises.
As time went by, the need for train facilities lessened and the section, although a design wonder, fell right into disrepair. The good news is, this was not completion for the KVR. Ultimately, it found a brand-new life as a leisure location, currently delighted in by both bikers and hikers.
Recreation & Trail Information
While the site comes year-round, the optimum time for treking or biking is from May to mid-autumn, when the route is free from snow cover. Extending a full length of 15 miles big salami, site visitors can return to their vehicles at any kind of factor. The trailheads, situated at both ends of the trail, are about a 40-minute drive from the community of Kelowna. The last stretch of the road is unpaved, but during the summer season, a high-clearance vehicle is unnecessary.
